How can we "Be More Plant"?

At Everleaf, our 'Be More Plant' ethos is to draw inspiration from the plants around us. From how they use their surroundings to grow to how they give back to everything around them. We're always asking how we can make what we do more plant!
We asked the team, "What does 'be more plant' mean to you?"; here's what they said.

"Be more plant for me is adaption".

We see many plants evolving and adapting in climates that are not necessarily their own. They might struggle at the beginning, but if looked after, they adapt and thrive.

This reminds me of myself. As a foreigner, it took me a while to adapt, but thanks to the people I met during my journey in the UK, I have managed to adapt, thrive, and succeed in life.

I like to put all my house plants in the sun when it is out, and I sit next to them for a while.

"Do what you can, with what you have" .

I used to have an allotment, but it was too big a commitment, and nature quickly 'retook control' of it, so I gave it to some other enthusiastic plant fans.

I built a raised bed in the garden a couple of weeks ago, and now have courgettes, French beans, tomatoes, sunflowers and herbs for cooking all coming up nicely.

This is making me very happy!

"Take yourself to different ecosystems"

Plants have seasons of rapid growth and periods of rest, where they gather strength beneath the surface. So do we.

I find very important to trade the hum of traffic for the rustle of leaves. To be more plant is to go for a walk after work, to hike on the weekends and to seek different green spaces when you travel. There’s something quietly transformative about rooting yourself in nature.

Rest, retreat, and the things that spark joy are what make the next bloom possible.

- Rita, Supply Chain and CX Manager

"Find your niche".

Plants all find their niche, whether it’s part of forest, mountain or marine environments, or a gap in a wall, they find a space that suits them and thrive.

I’ve had a few different careers, from conservation biologist to bar owner, writer to consultant. I’ve eventually found my niche putting them all together in Everleaf!
